Water and Sewage provides fresh water to citizens and removing sewage through pipe lines and water pumping and draining stations. Pipe lines can distribute both water and sewage, allowing cities to use the same pipe lines without the need to develop separate networks.[1]

The water supply can be contaminated through pollution. Water towers can be polluted if placed near industrial or other pollution-induced buildings. Sewage can pollute water pumping stations if the pumping station collects the polluted water. As a result of polluted water, citizens can become sick.

Flooded buildings

Buildings submerged in floods

Water Physics affect the flow of water and the effects of each station. As water is flowing down, the Water Pumping Station should be stationed where sewage pollution will not be reached. Dams also affect the water physics. The strength of the water flow can affect the amount of electrical output generated by the dam, with higher values being beneficial. If the dam was removed, the overflowing water would create a tsunami-like effect, causing floods on affected areas. Buildings submerged in floods are in critical danger of being abandoned. It is not advised to place pumping stations on land.

Heating[]

Main article: Heating

As part of Cities: Skylines Snowfall, heating plants can be built to provide heating to buildings. Pipes can then be upgraded to heating pipes that not only transport heat, but also transport water and sewage. This will lower the cost for electricity. There's a policy you can enable which is to ban electricity for heating. Be careful if you enable this, not having heating pipes will make citizens cold!
